there is no doubt that doing well in your education is important, not just for the present, but also for the sake of the future. leaving college or university with glowing credentials is likely to play a part in securing a good job and henceforth, a bright and comfortable future. however, achieving results with flying colours is not a piece of cake, which is why we should plan ahead on how we are to succeed in this semester.
firstly, we should attend all classes without exception. attending each and every class is vital as if we do not do so, we might miss important information which the lecturers impart to us. failing to do so, we might not understand what is happening in classes and start to fall away from the lesson, which leads to us becoming discouraged and frustrated, and possibly failing or giving up eventually. not only that, not attending class too many times without a valid reason will end up in us getting barred from sitting for the final examination and therefore not being able to graduate on time. in addition, this will also give a bad impression of ourselves to the lecturers, which might work against us.
proper time management also plays a big part in doing well. it is not uncommon to hear students whining and complaining about how difficult it is to study for their exams at the end of every semester when they have a gazillion uncompleted assignments to hand in when truth be told, it would have been a whole lot easier if they had managed their time well and finished their assignments ahead of time instead of whiling away the time enjoying themselves doing insignificant things such as playing computer games up till the wee hours of morning or going out excessively. of course, there is nothing wrong with playing computer games or going out with friends. however, if we want to do so, we should learn how to prioritize and schedule our work properly as to make things easier for ourselves and consequently, produce work that has been properly researched and completed, not work that has been put together in a hurry and haphazardly done.
besides that, we should also prepare for the final examinations through out the length of the semester, as this will help us to avoid burning the midnight oil trying to relentlessly cram a vast amount of information into our skulls at the end of the semester. in order for this to be done, we should pay attention to the lecturer in all our classes, jot down notes, and generally always be on top of things and be in the know of the happenings in our classes. whoever who does so will be pleasantly surprised to find out that a little bit of extra work here and there goes a long way and adds up to a lot over the weeks.
there is no dispute that doing well in college definitely gives us an edge over others when we come out into the working world. hence, we should always strive to do our best that we can in order to succeed.

The Effects of Twitter in Malaysia -Siran-
Twitter is often called microblogging . (SANS Institute Twitter Feeds , 2000) It is a free web-service that allows users to share short messages (140 characters or less) that are called tweets with the public . Additionally Twitter users can follow other Twitter users to get regular updates from individuals they are interested in and wish to get regular updates from . Even though Twitter has been around for a while , there are quite a few of us especially in Malaysia who would benefit from understanding what Twitter is all about and understanding the benefits .
With Twitter , anyone can follow your status updates . It’s a completely open network that makes teenagers feel “unsafe” about posting their content there , because who knows who will read it . Sure , you get emails notifying you when you have new followers , but that doest compare to the level of detail you get when someone on Facebook adds you , and you get their information . Twitter is also seen as more expensive to keep up with than Facebook .
Current news relating to the social networking Twitter , along those lines, Singapore’s representative said that new technologies and communications infrastructures were changing in ways that interacted with each other at a “breathless” pace. Surveys conducted around the world had shown that consumers were spending more time online, not only on e-mails and work, but increasingly on social media and blogs. She went on to say that social networking alone, through sites like Facebook and Twitter, had attracted a worldwide audience of over 830.9 million unique visitors. Additionally, as the prices of smartphone technology fell, the number of users would only continue to grow. Harnessing such new technologies would enable the United Nations and its Public Information Department to optimize outreach and engage people around the world in a confluence of conventional and new media. (Media-Newswire, 2010)
Web design and search engines marketing experts believe that Twitter has the potential to change the way organizations communicate with their customers . (Twitter – Benefits of Using Twitter, 2009) Twitter can have a lot of benefits to it . Twitter can be quite an effective search tool for researching any kind of information . The results can complement other methods or sources of information . Twitter has a vast user base who are constantly updating Twitter with new information on different sites .
Twitter can be a usefully medium for promoting your products and services and establish your brand . If you are an established business you can use Twitter to enhance your brand image . On the other hand if you are a smaller business with limited brand awareness then , Twitter can be excellent for promoting and establishing your brand among a vast audience ( Fitton Laura , Gruen Michael ,Poston Leslie, 2009) Twitter can be useful in promoting your products and services . It provides a cost effective method to increase awareness about your products or services . A business can inform customers about any new announcement or special offers . It offers all the advantages of traditional text message marketing and more . It can prove to be a useful tool for conducting market research by better understanding of potential or existing customers . (Twitter – Benefits of Using Twitter, 2009)
Twitter can also be used to drive traffic to your website . Website or blog owners commonly use Twitter to promote or articles that have been published on their blog or site . Bloggers often use Twitter to inform their audience of any new posts on their blog by posting links on Twitter . If you post quality information on Twitter and have an active profile , you will also receive indirect traffic as users who like your contribution will tend to click on your Twitter profile and are likely to visit your website . ( Fitton Laura , Gruen Michael ,Poston Leslie, 2009)
Twitter also provides excellent opportunities to network with people of common interest. On a personal level Twitter allows one to communicate with friends and family or close network of connections. On an organisational level Twitter allows colleagues who are not co-located to communicate with each other or businesses to communicate with their customers. With Twitter it is also possible to target a specific niche or audience by following others from your industry. It can thus allow a business to build contacts within the industry. Communities have developed around many of Twitter groups or niches. (Twitter – Benefits of Using Twitter, 2009)
Twitter provides you with an opportunity to join a group of interest by following others who are influential within your niche. Twitter also allows businesses to communicate with customers and receive feedback in a casual and cost effective manner. It can prove useful in understanding and obtaining consumer opinion about new products or services or new ideas. Businesses have also used Twitter effectively to measure the performance of campaigns.
There are disadvantages of using Twitter as well . Teenagers do not use Twitter may be that their lives tend to revolve around their friends . Though Twitter’s founders originally conceived of the site as a way to stay in touch with people , it turns out that it is better for broadcasting ideas or questions and answers to the outside world or for marketing a product . There’s no doubt that today’s generation of teenagers are tech-savvy . It’s a common sight to see teens spending a huge portion of their time on Facebook , Blogging and Instant Mesaggers . By using these social networking platforms , teens are able to interact and connect with their friends online after school . For example , they can share their views , thoughts and opinions of a particular issue on their Msn’s personal message , Facebook wall , personal blogs and many more .

Analysis and the Impact
From my analysis of the game,Final Fantasy already bring a big waves of phenomena especially for the teenagers around 13 until 19.This game becomes hit as the teenagers like to try something new from the game based on the type of the game which is RPG(Role Playing Games). In the other hand, mostly parents are worried about this type of addiction because some of Final Fantasy game can classifieds for adults and contains explicit scene. As the games already released a lot of series including the recently Final Fantasy XIV,the fans of the game keep continue to growing from days to days, which makes it one of the fastest rising game fans in the world.Besides that, there were a lot of fansites and blogs featuring Final Fantasy as the main idea. This shows how can the game attracts many fans to know a lot more about this game.Furthermore, this phenomena not just occurred among the teenagers in Asia,it’s also giving a big response to the western country like United States. As the proof,a lot of comics and games festivals around United States participated by Final Fantasy’s creator,Hironobu Sakaguchi to promote his new series of Final Fantasy.Besides that,a lot of cosplayer likes to wear the costumes just exactly like in all of the Final Fantasy games characters in the comics and games festivals.
Moreover, some of the series of Final Fantasy already been filmed using the beautiful technic of CGI (Computer Generated Imaginery). As example,Final Fantasy VII Advent Children is one of the most successful Final Fantasy movies ever made. With only USD 15 million budget, looks that much better than any other 3D animated film. From here,we can see that the film have bring a big impact not only to their fans but to the anime fans which was widely known by the world that their fans basically from the teenagers. This causing an fatal attraction to the teenagers worldwide to play Final Fantasy series games and making the fans keep increasing fastly.
The Final Fantasy series and several specific games within it have been credited for introducing and popularizing many concepts that are today widely used in console RPGs. The original title is often cited as one of the most influential early console RPGs, and played a major role in legitimizing and popularizing the genre. Prior to the series, RPGs featured one-on-one battles against monsters from a first person perspective. Final Fantasy introduced a side view perspective with groups of monsters against a group of characters that has been frequently imitated. Final Fantasy II was the first sequel in the industry to omit characters and locations from the previous title. Final Fantasy VII is credited with allowing console role-playing games to find a place in markets outside Japan.
The series' popularity has resulted in its appearance and reference in numerous facets of popular culture like anime, TV series, and webcomics. Music from the series has permeated into different areas of culture. Final Fantasy IV's "Theme of Love" was integrated into the curriculum of Japanese school children and has been performed live by orchestras and metal bands. In 2003, Uematsu became involved with The Black Mages, a rock group independent of Square that has released albums of arranged Final Fantasy tunes. Bronze medalists Alison Bartosik and Anna Kozlova performed their synchronized swimming routine at the 2004 Summer Olympics to music from Final Fantasy VIII. Many of the titles' official soundtracks have been released for sale as well. Numerous companion books, which normally provide in-depth game information that have been published. In Japan, they are published by Square and are called Ultimania books. In North America, they take the form of standard strategy guides.

Background of Twitter
Twitter was founded in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone. The basic structure of Twitter is in the term, micro-blogging. Micro-blogging is a form of multimedia blogging that allows users to send brief text updates such as status updates within 140 words. With twitter, keeping in touch with friends has never been the same again what more when everyone nowadays practically has a twitter account regardless of age and occupation. Most people who use twitter are using it daily, several times a day found it very useful to communicate especially when everyone is busy running around and about their own lives. It has become a popular tool to use as it is very easy to handle and convenient and it is merely all about status updates. It’s very simple because you only share messages, read others and send yours. With the connection of these three elements, real time messages are being sent at a speed of light and many things are possible.
Many people are actually using Twitter and some examples would be the Hollywood celebrities. These celebrities are using Twitter for various reasons and the number of celebrities using this social networking site is increasing day by day. They have many followers which are mainly their fans and this gives them a chance to interact with their fans. This is the background of my topic on “Bridging the gap between the Hollywood Celebrities and Fans using Twitter.”
The Benefits of Facebook Among DMC Students in Inti College. -FAROUQ-
The benefits of facebook among DMC students in Inti college.
Background of the media platform chosen.
In today’s ever growing world of technology Facebook is one of the most upcoming and handy social networking site that has ever existed other than YouTube. Facebook was first founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his fellow roommates in 2004. They came over it while studying at Harvard. Facebook was originally used in Harvard. It was meant to be some sort of a student portal, this portal includes submitting assignments, important announcements and also a means of interaction among students to communicate among one another and among the lecturers. Facebook has grown rapidly and spread throughout the world, and now it has more than 6 million users around the globe. Facebook is now being used among all groups of ages at every level. From school students all the way to senior citizens Facebook has become an essential tool of communication. However, in every innovation of technology there are its pros and cons, but the pros of Facebook definitely outweigh the cons. The benefits of Facebook is displayed the most among the students as it was originally created by students.
Objective.
One of The benefits of Facebook among DMC students in Inti College is to communicate among students and lecturers about Mass Communication subjects. Students can discuss issues regarding assignments, for example, confirmation of assignment topics can be submitted Via Facebook. Students can also discuss questions virtually among one another. This is a more practical and efficient way of discussing, as sometimes it might be a hassle to meet up and discuss. Thanks to facebook, we DMC students can communicate with one another from distance apart. Another benefit of this social network is that lectures can post important or last minute announcements through this site as students often check their face book accounts regularly. It is only logical to use this to get through students as it is currently the main stream of networking among students. Announcements regarding examinations timetable, results and etc also can be posted. All in all it is just a very simple, fast, efficient way to share information.
As a DMC student, it is in the nature of our course to organize events. Facebook will definitely help us in advertising our events. Compared to other tools of advertising, Facebook is much easier as it can be done at home. There is no cost involved in advertising Via Facebook. Facebook is definitely fast because we can get immediate response from the other users of Facebook. For an instance, like when we post anything on facebook, less than 2 minute the whole friends list would be able to read it, and by this everybody would get informed about any upcoming events, updates and etc.
Hackers and identity theft are on the rise, as a result, facebook has rigid security measures. Facebook is accessible to chosen universities which have a high level of security. Spammers also are blocked by the facebook administration. These measures are taken to ensure all internet forgery are prevented at its very best. Updates are often updated to ensure the security is up to date with the current technology.
Research and article about facebook.
Social Network Security Act Was Opposed By Facebook.
CLIMB THE NET.COM.
Another day, another post on Facebook that looks into their security and privacy policies. This time, the plot is a little more sinister than third party applications taking data and passing it on to marketers and others though. They apparently spent $6,600 to prevent a social network privacy bill from going through that would prevent such websites from displaying the address and contact details of juveniles.
The act sounds like a sensible one and while we’re behind freedom of speech on the Internet as much as the next news site, something clearly needs to be done about the safety of children using sites like Facebook and Twitter, but also about social network privacy and social network security in general.
Governments are taking steps in a bid to try and improve the safety of people that social network and in particular young children it doesn’t help when major companies like Facebook, who should have a vested interest in protecting the security of their most vulnerable users, attempt to stop progressive action being taken.
Conclusion.
In conclusion, Facebook has become an unusually big part of everybody’s life in the entire globe. Facebook is a social network that helps each and every DMC student in Inti College. Why do I say this, because, it makes students be more competitive to pass up any assignment topics or answers. However, by this way students will even pay more attention to the lecturer in class. Facebook has a lot of benefits among DMC students in Inti College. Thanks to facebook for making our life much easier, faster and effective.
Future research.
In the future I will try to find away that maybe Twitter, youtube and other social network might come in handy in our college. By using twitter, we can send in our assignment idea and etc. I think in the future we will have to enhance the use of facebook in our college.

RESEARCH -facebook effect the privacy of the teenagers
OWN ANALYSIS
Well no doubt facebook is network to keep in touch with your loved ones but we should also know that facebook is actually effecting our privacy. Knowing it is effecting you should start to restrict on what you should say and what you should not say as people are watching us every now and then . it is not really safe to say all we want in a social network where the entire world are having an eye on us. In away we are putting our life in a red zone, dangerous zone i meant . From the most important days in your life to the latest happenings, you can share it all. In fact, there seems no limit to sharing of information at Facebook. from the clubs you are a member of, to holiday photographs and contests, the options are endless.Yet, at the same time, the disadvantages are many and increasing too with the seamless streaming of private information and invasions on personal space. The privacy options that are embedded within the accounts are also placed in a manner that makes it difficult to seal off information leaks or prevent disclosure.Technology has its uses and Technological advances are part of progress. At the same time, one needs to know the pros and cons, and what you are up against.
FUTURE RECOMMENDATION
Other then doing a research on facebook effect the privacy of teenagers from klang valley I would love to do how benefial can facebook be to our teenagers. Well undoubtedly facebook does have their advantages . Facebook makes it very easy to communicate with people. Send messages, as well as see what other people are up to. This gets rid of a lot of awkwardness that you may have encountered in the real world. it’s a great way to network with other professionals in your field, as well as meet old classmates. We all know that networking is essential in the business field.
background about facebook
Facebook is a famous social network that has develop to rank with myspace. Facebook was found back in 2003 by Mark Zuckerberg along with help of his friends and roommates Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz. Zuckerberg was in his sophomore year at Harvard when opened it up, as a way to get his mind off his crush.
The website was intended to be an online version of the University's printed Facebook, a directory of new students. At that time, membership to the website was limited to Harvard students only. In a month's time, Facebook grew to include other Ivy League students as well, and within a year had over 1 million users. By the end of 2005, Facebook expanded to include, first, a network of 800 colleges and universities, then high schools, and then international students. In time for the fall semester of 2006, Facebook began accepting membership of anyone over the age of 13. The social networking site currently has over 90 million active users.
RESEARCH -facebook effect the privacy of the teenagers
Any time you open any sort of online account, you give up a degree of privacy. While most sites the private information you enter remains between you and the website, in the case of Facebook.com, there is potential to expose a lot of personal information on the web for all to see
.
On the plus side, Facebook does offer tools to help you mitigate this and control your user experience. By using these tools you can customize how much or how little you want the Facebook, or even the Internet, communities to see.
However no matter how rigid you set your privacy settings, it is important to realize that nothing is foolproof and by joining Facebook you will lose a level of privacy. Always keep in mind you cannot control what interaction happens on your Facebook friends' pages and that you may end up in photos or comments you cannot control. Always be careful what you comment on.
Another big downside to social networking sites is that they tend to expose sides of people which are very different from professional personas. Be aware that it is not uncommon for potential employers or current bosses routinely surf social networking sites on applicants or employees.
While you may customize your own settings to keep outsiders from seeing your interactions, as indicated with the privacy issues, you cannot control what happens outside the scope of your own profile page. A friend may post last weekend's party photos highlighting your name or other unflattering images or comments which show up in search results. This can wreak havoc in one's professional life.
For the most part, being a Facebook member can be a great experience as the website is a fun and interesting place to interact. The key to having a successful experience is to be aware of the disadvantages and protect yourself by using the tools Facebook provides and combine this with common sense.
Final Fantasy XIII captured teenager’s attention
This is my video about the cultural assignment.. Enjoy.. =D
What is Facebook? -Ganesa-
To look from a student’s point of view, Facebook is a must have account to boost their social statuses, which is the top of all their wish lists. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you’re labeled as a loser or someone who is lifeless. Facebook truly is a place where a person can be someone they are not in reality. Although many of them are pretty in denial about this, they are keen to know it someday. At least a majority number of students who have Facebook rely on it to make them more popular. As to be said, only 100 of their 200 friends on Facebook are people whom they actually know or talk to. Random adding and friend making is most popular at sites like Facebook. It may seem a good thing at first, but there will be someday where they realize the one person they are fooling is nobody but themselves. Sometimes things may get out hand. For an instance, a student who prefers the living environment on Facebook may try to alter their selves into becoming the person when they are on it.This leads to nothing but double identity which can harm people psychologically. Besides, it’s always healthy to practice a lifestyle which is more realistic and practical.
Current Research About The Dangers Of Facebook That Happened In Malaysia by Amanda.
There were many interesting and unbelievable news about the Dangers Of Facebook that not only happened worldwide but also in Malaysia when i did my research. Just recently on the 26th of October, there were reports in The Star newspaper about, a “Student 18, acquitted of raping 11-year-old-girl”. It is believed that Ang Jia Juen, 18 had been charged with raping the girl whom he met via Facebook. They befriended each other for six months before meeting up to go on a date.
According to The Star newspapers on the 7TH of October, an argument between two friends that started on Facebook ended up in stabbing. It is stated that the cause of this stabbing happened after two men met up over a small issue of them calling each other names on Facebook. The 22 year old man took out a knife and stabbed the other man in his ribs and hand. This proves that even small issues like this can turn out to be a serious matter endangering the lives of others.
Another news from The Star Online reported on August 13th, Nur Dhiya Ain Rosman aged 19, went missing after befriending a group of African men whom she met on Facebook recently. Her mother, Roslah Abdul Jani said that she was frequently on Facebook before the incident happened. Roslah received a call from her daughter on Aug 9 saying that she was at KLIA waiting to board a plane to Africa with an African man. Her mother believes that she has been used as a drug mule. Another similar case reported by to this happened on the 14th of July, Christina Anak Luke Niju from Sandakan, Sabah believed to be in 20’s went missing after befriending an African man by the name of James through Facebook. Her roommate said that, Christina planned to go to China with James on April 29 to venture into a new business together. After sometime her roommate received an e-mail from Christina saying that she did not have enough money to get home from China and she also said that James had left her there after receiving money from an unknown.
The Effects Of facebook Towards College Students - Ganesa
Internet addiction is something pretty common and abundant among people nowadays. It feels like it’s almost impossible to live without the usage of internet. As internet may bring May pros to human beings, it also has it’s cons. Of course, the world of career itself seeks for the maximum facility of internet such as email and search engines such as Google. But as internet is becoming such a norm to us, we may or may not realize the impact it has got on the younger generation. There are many popular social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter etc. Though there are many more, the one that definitely took the limelight was Facebook. Facebook is almost like the most essential thing in a teenager’s life right now. Although it may seem cool in their eyes, Facebook definitely has its toll on students.
The biggest worry probably every parents and educators are having on students are their low grades which a big percentage of it is caused by the usage of Facebook. Its almost cliché that all students basically spend their whole day using Facebook. Students are amused by its facilities and how they communicate with friends and people they are shy or insecure to talk to in real life. They are too fascinated that they close one eye about the fake world they’re living in through Facebook. The time spent on facebook literally eats up their time which can be used to do many other advantageous things such as studying. The lack of concentration on studies is mainly caused by the humongous amount of time and attention poured on Facebook. Students tend to get carried away and thus they have no time to finish up their assignment or even to revise. Most students have got to log into their Facebook accounts almost all the time. In the world of advanced technology, we are spoilt with the existence of smartphones. Smartphones may be pretty useful, especially among students in the sense of communication and presence of abundant Wi-Fi. With the availability of Wi-Fi in class rooms these days, it makes it more convenient for students to access Facebook especially during study hours. And this is exactly how students get lost of touch or left behind in their studies. These would definitely take a toll on their studies especially when it’s pretty hard to ignore the thought of logging into Facebook and checking out their notifications even during exams.
Many students are sadly even fooled by the false sense of privacy that is promised by the social networking sites like Facebook. They get over assurance by the false terms and conditions of privacy these sites promises that they get too confident to post embarrassing, humiliating, denigrating and hurtful content in both text, photos and videos. They fail to realize that nothing is private, especially in social networks. They are blinded by the satisfaction they get that they forget that the online world is merely transparent. Student have yet to find out the serious consequences that can be caused by their immature actions. Some students have be expelled from school and colleges. Students have been denied acceptance to intern programs, admissions to independent high schools, colleges, and jobs at summer schools. Some students and parents have been even arrested. All because of the content they’ve posted in their ‘private’ social network accounts. It may not entirely fall on the privacy of the site itself; it may also be the existence of hackers. In this way, hackers can easily have access into any private information about a person. Perhaps the most common reason that teen’s private information is exposed is because they are easily tricked into accepting friend requests from strangers.
Scams are everywhere in the world. They also exist in many ways targeting students in these social networks like Facebook. Students, though very knowledgeable about using technology, are often naïve and easily manipulated. They are the people with the highest ego and they love to carry themselves as powerful but it is a sad fact that they are the ones who are easily fooled. They want to believe what is said to them, especially when it appears that others believe. Scammers use this trick by creating many fake pages on social networks that talk about web sites to buy stuffs, products that don’t work, and cool pages that only result in drive-by spyware downloads.
Most importantly, the meaning of the word ‘friend’ is changing for students and this change puts them in risk in several ways. If we ask an average teen how many friends they have on Facebook, the answer would be 200 to 500 friends or even more. This only results in students being exposed to mere strangers. Risks take place when students apply traditional real-life values to the ‘friendships’ some of them develop online in sites like Facebook. Just because Facebook says that anyone 14 years or old can use Facebook, doesn’t mean that they should. It isn't an age-appropriate or developmentally healthy place for children and younger teens to hang out. Facebook is not working to protect children and the laws in our country are terribly inadequate to safeguard our children online, in general. Not enough is being done to protect and educate children and teens against the risks that come from using the Internet, and Facebook in particular.
