The title of my culture assignment is based on the movie of “Hannah Montana”. I am looking forwards in what are the issues that are brought out by the show and what is the lack of moral values in this show that will affect the younger generation’s mentality. The movie of Hannah Montana is a teen movie and basically it’s about a girl around the ages of 17. She has two different roles in one life; one is living in a secret life as a super star, Hannah Montana; while another is a normal teen, Miley Stewart that has a best friend named Lily. Miley Stewart has a father named Robby Stewart and a silly-annoying brother named Jackson. There are only few persons who knows Miley real secret hidden role. The objective of this movie is trying to bring a message to the kids that everyone can have a dream and should try their very best to achieve it.
The aim of this research is to know how it affects the younger generation (ages from 13 to 17) in ways for example would the movie affect their way in talking and behavior. ‘Magic Bullet’ theory can explain because what the media says will influences the audience and might follow blindly and teens’ mind is easy to be distract. Besides that, I would also like to find out how it impacts the society too such as clothing lines. The purpose of doing the research paper based on the show Hannah Montana is to get a clear picture of how it could affect the younger generation’s mind especially the girls. Would they follow the trend of the clothing line of the character or could make the kids; attitudes and behavior will change to be more understanding or worse after watching it. Furthermore, I would also like to find out how it helps the society as in how the show could affect the clothing line as it might help the economic to improve. Next, I want to find out how are the attitudes of Hannah in the show affect the teens and what do the society thinks after watching the show and the impact that brings to them for example how they feel about Hannah that has two different roles in her life because one of the social psychology theory states the influences of other people that leads us to conform because we see them as a source of information to guide our attitude and behavior.
The methodology I going to use to know how it impacts to the younger generation am by using the secondary research method which is doing research based on internet, book and other resources that is taken from other people. By the way, there are several limitations that block me from doing this research deeply. First, I am lack of time, and I am facing difficulty in downloading the movie. Secondly, there are not much of news and sources about the movie, so I could not do it that perfectly.
