What is Twitter?

The social networking that i choose to do an Individual and Critical Analysis is Twitter.

Even though twitter has been around for a while, there are quite a few of us especially in Malaysia who would benefit from understanding what twitter is all about and understanding the benefits. In essence, twitter is a micro-blogging platform where you can post updates which are not more than 140 characters long. These updates could be something simple like “Had nasi lemak panas at bangsar today” to something which could be promoting your own product or a blog post. It really depends on what you use twitter for – personal or business.

Some twitter users use the same account for both personal and business while others separate them. Yes you can have multiple accounts on twitter which enables you to do that. Once you sign up on twitter you can start searching for other users sharing your same interests – like “blogging”, “iphone”, “penang”, “malaysia” etc. Find those users which interest you and start following them. Start interacting with the community and you will soon find other twitter users following you as well. Try to help people on twitter and that always is the best way to gain a user’s confidence and start following you.
