MARTHA STEWART


Title: Analyzing how Martha Stewart influences women worldwide.

Problem Statement: How does Martha Stewart influence women into a homemaking fantasy and is one of the most successful business women in history?

Background Research: Martha Helen Kostyra (Martha Stewart) was born on August 3, 1941 in New Jersey to parents who believed in strong work ethnic. Martha's mother taught her how to cook. Whereas she learned the art of canning and preserving at her grandparents' home in Buffalo New York. They taught Martha how to preserve can vegetables and fruits. Martha's father, Eddie was a gardener who shared his skills with Martha. They would work together in the garden planting flowers, fruit trees, and bushes of berries. Restoring and decorating soon became her passion and painted the interior and the exterior of her own house. Many of her skills used today are from her parents and grandparents which are passed down to viewers. She showed women how to entertain, decorate, garden, craft, cook and bake. Martha has publish magazines, books, etc, was named one of '' America's Most Influential People of 1996. She has a never-ending supply of ideas and energy and will continue to influence women all over the world.


Objective:

Significance: To contribute to the study of women influences in homemaking fantasy and career.
